Case Profile – Rosemary Loveth Adesokan

Rosemary was born on the 23rd of October, 1979 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Ogbeide in Benin City, Edo State. She had her primary education at Igbinedion Primary School, Benin City before proceeding to St. Margaret Secondary School for her high school. This dream was cut short in 1994 while she was in JSS three as the cold hands of death snatched her father away. Dropping out of school, she joined her mother in trading as a meat seller; a vocation she was in for four years.

In 1999, she came to Lagos on the invitation of one of her friends, Beauty. She was introduced into prostitution by Beauty and they were living at a brothel. She was fully engaged as a prostitute for two and half years till she came in contact with Alabaster Oil Ministries.

Coming into Alabaster Oil Ministries, she was enlisted as a trainee at Regalia Fashion House under the tutelage of Ms. Funmi Ajila. She absconded with a guy after one year but was left in the lurch when she found out that the guy was cheating on her. She left him and rented an apartment outside where she went back to prostitution for the next one and half years. In the course of this, she met Taiwo Adesokan, a cobbler, and started a relationship with him. They dated for nine months and Alabaster Oil Ministries sponsored their wedding which took place at Jordan Ministries in July, 2007.

After the wedding, Alabaster Oil Ministries gave them seed capital of N50,000.00 with which she started trading in fruits while her husband ploughed his own share into his shoe-making business.

She is still in touch with the ministry and comes around for counsel from time to time.
